This glossary is created from a reading which created many doubts in several words and this glossary helped a lot to understand
Conduction shape factor
When you have two surfaces, each one emits radiant energy (according to its temperature level) towards the surroundings, and part of it is intercepted by the other.
es: Factor de forma de conducción
Convection resistance
noun
Example: Consider the heat flow through a two-layer wall The heat flow rate will be equal to the total temperature difference divided by the sum of the three thermal resistances.
es: Resistencia a la conveccion
Critical radius of insulation
Is the measure of the radius of an insulator in which the heat transfer is maximum or the resistance of the heat flow is very low.
Example: Avoid and reduce corrosion caused by moisture and condensation.
es: Radio crítico de aislamiento
Cylinder conduction resistance
Is the thermal resistance of the cylindrical layer against heat conduction, or simply the conduction resistance of the cylindrical layer.
es: Resistencia de conducción del cilindro
efficiency
noun
Ability to perform or adequately fulfill a function.
es: Eficiencia
Fin efficiency
Ratio of heat actually transferred to heat transferred by an ideal fin.
es: Eficiencia de las aletas
Interface resistance
es: Resistencia de interfaz
Plane wall conduction resistance
plural noun
es: Resistencia a la conducción de la pared plana
radiation resistance
noun
Is the act of manufacturing electronic components and systems resistant to damage or malfunction caused by ionizing radiation.
Example: Neutron and proton displacement damage and single event effects.
es: Resistencia a la radiación
sphere conduction resistance
noun
Is the thermal resistance of the cylindrical layer against heat conduction, or simply the conduction resistance of the cylindrical layer.
es: Resistencia a la conducción de la esfera
Surfaces
verb
Parte más externa de un cuerpo que lo limita o separa de lo que lo rodea.
es: Superficies
Thermal contact conductance
adjetive
It is a property that indicates the thermal conductivity, or ability to conduct heat, between two bodies in contact.
Example: When two solid bodies come into contact, such as A and B, heat flows from the warmer body to the cooler body.
es: conductancia de contacto térmico
thermal contact resistance
adverb
Represents the conduction of heat between two solid bodies.
Example: The thermal contact conductance for aluminum plates with a surface roughness of 10 μm placed in air with an interface pressure of 1 atm is h c = 3640 W / m 2 .K.
es: Resistencia al contacto térmico
Total thermal resistance
noun
It is a property of heat and a measure of a temperature difference by which an object or material resists a flow of heat.
Example: Copper has a lower electrical resistance than wood and short and thick conductors have less resistance than long and thin ones, in the same way, if we increase the thickness of the material, its thermal resistance decreases and if we increase its length, its thermal resistance increases.
